- Grape(s)
- Grignolino wine
A complex and refreshing Italian aperitif — a beautiful balance of bitter, sweet and spice.
Made from biodynamically grown Grignolino wine, blended with alcohol infused with sugar, orange peel, gentian root, spices and a selection of Italian herbs.
A traditional Piemontese aperitif, the Americano takes its name from the French “Amer” (bitter), offering a more complex and structured profile than vermouth.
Fresh, aromatic and perfectly balanced, it combines citrus, herbs and gentle bitterness.

Chinati Vergano
Piedmont, Italy

Mauro Vergano crafts artisanal vermouth and amaro in his Turin laboratory using traditional methods, foraged herbs and natural local wines. His Americano is a testament to Italian aperitivo culture — bitter, complex, and utterly refreshing.
Mauro Vergano started experimenting with drinks at a young age under the guidance of his uncle, a producer of wines and vermouth. He later studied chemistry and oenology, and then worked as a chemist for fifteen years in one of Italy's top pharmaceutical companies.
During that time, Mauro learned how to use certain instruments and equipment, as well as experimented with his recipes. For years he made drinks as a hobby, but in the early 2000s, with the encouragement of his family and friends, he left his job and established his own laboratory.
Mauro only uses the best ingredients, from foraged herbs to natural local wines. With a touch of wizardry he mixes them together to create incredibly fresh, complex and balanced drinks that are highly respected and in high demand from connoisseurs around the world.
