About Artizan Wines

Natural wine is simple: pure fermented grape juice. Nothing added, nothing removed.

The grapes are grown organically, without chemicals or heavy machinery. In the cellar, fermentation happens naturally with wild yeasts. No additives, no industrial processes, no filtering, and little or no sulphur.

The winemaker does not try to control the wine. He listens, guides, and lets it express where it comes from.

The result is a living wine, shaped by the soil, the climate, and the hands that made it.

Natural wine can be straight and precise, or funky and wild, and we love both. What we never accept is a wine with faults.

This is harder than it sounds. Without additives or corrections, everything depends on the grower's skill, experience and honesty. Not every natural wine producer gets it right.

After nearly two decades of tasting, visiting cellars and building deep relationships across France and Italy, we know the difference and we know who to trust.

We select growers who combine passion with precision, people who understand their land and work with care every single vintage. When a wine carries the Artizan name, it means we have tasted it, we trust it, and we stand behind it.

Artizan was founded by Michael Cohen, a Parisian with deep roots in both France and Israel, and nearly two decades in the natural wine world.

He discovered natural wine in 2008, and it was love at first sip. From that moment, he dedicated himself to understanding it, working in restaurants in Paris, London and the south of France, during the years when natural wine was reshaping the way people thought about wine.

He travelled to wine fairs, spent time in cellars, and built real relationships with growers across France and Europe. He was not observing the movement from the outside. He was part of it.

Connected to Israel his whole life, Michael moved here permanently six years ago and founded Artizan in 2021, bringing those relationships, that knowledge and that passion with him.

Today, Artizan works with a carefully selected group of growers, mainly in France and Italy, people we know personally, visit regularly, and trust completely. Every wine we carry has been tasted and selected by Michael himself.

Our standard has never changed: clean, alive, honest wines, true to their origin and the people who made them.
